Branch of Svėdasai Nursing Home
The branch of the Svėdasai Nursing Home for Anykščiai Social Care Home started operating on April 1, 1998 and became a shelter for the elderly from loneliness and misery. The purpose of the care home is to meet the needs of the elderly, to create living conditions that do not degrade human dignity, to protect and defend their rights and legitimate interests, to promote the ability to take care of oneself, to help overcome social exclusion and, where possible, to integrate into society.
The branch is located in a picturesque place of Svėdasai town near Alaušas lake and Svėdasai st. the Church of St. Michael the Archangel. The branch of the Svėdasai old people’s care home can accommodate elderly (retired) people in our district and elderly (retired) people with severe disabilities who, due to old age or disability, cannot live in their own homes and need long-term or short-term social care. The premises of the branch of the Svėdasai Nursing Home are rented from the Svėdasai Religious Community, represented by St. pastor of the Church of St. Michael the Archangel. The branch has thirteen living rooms (single, double, triple and quadruple), a lounge and exercise room, a kitchenette, a veranda, sanitary facilities, a massage room with a multisensory environment and four staff rooms. The branch of the Svėdasai nursing home has accommodation for 35 locals.
The branch of the nursing home has its own anthem, the words of which were written by Sigita Zobarskienė, a relative of the resident of the branch.
Prie Alaušo ramaus, ant kalnelio gražaus,
Pastatyti seniai su mansardom plačiai
Žilagalvių senelių namai.
Ten parimus viena jų senatvė žila,
Kaimynų pamiršta, kaimynų pamiršta
O savų, o savų apleista.
Tik per langą gali gerti grožį širdim,
Nes bangelė švelni ir gulbelė didi
Teikia viltį senam nepalūžt.
Bažnytėlė arti, bet nueit negali
Nes kojelės nūnai nebeklauso visai,
Nebeklauso kojelės visai.
Jei rožančių turi, dar kalbėti gali,
Kad Marija ir Dievas globotų visus,
Kad Marija ir Dievas globotų.
Aš lenkiuosi žemai metų naštai sunkiai,
Nes senatvė žila, nes senatvė žila,
Nes senatvė palaiminta Dievo.
